Thank you for your interest in an ELEMENTARY school teaching position here in the Diocese of Orange.
PLEASE NOTE:  High School applicants must apply directly to the high schools.
The following guidelines are for all elementary school teaching positions (PS-8th grade, full-time, part-time and substitute teachers).

 

Before an applicant can be considered for a position, we require the following:

  1. A current resume with a cover letter specifically highlighting what kind of position you are looking for and what gifts you will bring to that position. If you are seeking a specific position at a school please reference that position.
  2. The completed application and which must include your responses to the highlighted questions on Page 3 of the application
  3. Sealed, official transcripts confirming the degree(s) you have been granted should be sent to our office.  Please do not include/send transcripts marked as unofficial.  They will not be included in your file.  If you have opened, official transcripts, you may scan them and email them along with the application to expedite the approval process.   If you are offered a contract you will have to provide the sealed official transcripts for your personnel file.
  4. Confirmation of the current status of your credential (If you don’t have a credential, please explain why in the cover letter)
  5. Forward the reference form to the individuals who will be completing them on your behalf.  We require three references; two professional references from individuals who can give an assessment of your teaching abilities and one character reference (preferably from your pastor) to provide an assessment of your Catholic Identity. Each individual is to complete the form and send it back to nricco@rcbo.org directly. References forwarded by applicants will not be included in their application file.  References may, if they wish, include a reference letter with the completed form.  We do not accept letters of reference in lieu of the completed form.

Once your application is complete it will be submitted for review and approval.  If your application is approved it will be made available to ALL the elementary school principals to consider for their open positions.

Seeking an Early Childhood Teacher for their Extended Care Program

Job Description:
The job is five days a week from 2:45 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. with two days a month 1:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.   This person will also be a substitute for our preschool therefore, more hours may be given.   The job begins August 28th and continues through June 8th.  Extended Care closes when the school is closed for holidays.  The program will have no more than 10 preschool children enrolled (ages four to five years).

Requirements:
The teacher must have 12 units of Early Childhood Education courses or the state equivalent according to California State Licensing.

 Internship/Supervisor Information:
The teacher will work cooperatively with the preschool staff for curriculum planning.  The pay is hourly based on qualifications and experience.

It would be a 3.25 hour shift from 2:45-6 pm, Monday thru Friday with an opportunity for extra hours as they become available. ASP – Program Teacher – Full Time

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain/manage Academic Support classes and support classroom discipline policies throughout the day.
  • Work with other ASP Staff as a support network for student needs and requirements as outlined in their SMCHS testing, education and accommodations plans, within the school community as well as with outside tutors, counselors, physicians, etc.
  • Responsible for the reporting of grades, maintaining online student resources (i.e., Learning Portal and OneNote) for the class, conducting weekly grade checks and e-mailing reports to students and parents.
  • Educate students on the use of their special accommodations.
  • Serve as a liaison between student and teachers/other ASP personnel in accessing student special accommodations.
  • Assist in test administration and/or proctoring of special accommodations testing.
  • Be proficient with the use of technology and education software.
  • Assist and train students in study skills, the use of technology, and computer-based learning and remedial programs.
  • Assist in the implementation of supplemental academic programs, such as reading and writing remediation programs, intensive finals review, etc.
  • Participate in student/parent conferences, teacher/counselor meetings, PLC, department, psychoeducational, and education plan meetings.
  • Work with Program Director and/or School Psychologist in any, and all activities regarding the maintenance of the ASP program.

Performing Arts Technical Director

SMCHS is seeking a Full-Time Performing Arts Technical Director.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Teach a Theatre Arts Production Class.
  • Assist with the Fall Production, Christmas Production, Spring Musical, Fall/Spring Choir Concert, Choir Pops Concert, Spring Dance Concert, Instrumental Music Concerts, all-school liturgical events, I.B. Theatre Projects, Talon Theatre Senior Play, Talon Theatre Cabaret, Vocal Music Senior Showcase, Steel Drum Mardi Gras Concert, Comedy Sportz, and other small scale productions as assigned.
  • Manage Eagle Dome and Black Box Theatre.
  • Collaborate with Director of Talon Theatre.
  • Execute design of set, lights, and sound for productions.
  • Serve as Master Carpenter on productions.
  • Hang and Focus lights for productions.
  • Facilitate writing and programming of lighting cues.
  • Setup sound equipment for productions.
  • Facilitate operation of sound and light board for productions.
  • Hang curtains in dome as needed for various productions.
  • Design, hang, focus, run lights for Christmas production.
  • Help design and construct scenic pieces for Christmas production.
  • Attend production meetings for all productions.
  • Arrange for transportation of rented scenic pieces (as far as Los Angeles).
  • Pick up and return rented microphones, sets, drops, and lights.
  • Work with Dance Dept. and Facilities Management for installation and proper removal/storage of Marley dance floor.  In order to use ladders, tiles must be put down and picked up.
  • Execute scenic painting per designer’s plan.
  • Be present and work with Director on technical rehearsals for productions.

Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Theater or a related field.
