Thank you for your interest in an ELEMENTARY school teaching position here in the Diocese of Orange.
PLEASE NOTE:  High School applicants must apply directly to the high schools.
The following guidelines are for all elementary school teaching positions (PS-8th grade, full-time, part-time and substitute teachers).

 

Before an applicant can be considered for a position, we require the following:

  1. A current resume with a cover letter specifically highlighting what kind of position you are looking for and what gifts you will bring to that position. If you are seeking a specific position at a school please reference that position.
  2. The completed application and which must include your responses to the highlighted questions on Page 3 of the application
  3. Sealed, official transcripts confirming the degree(s) you have been granted should be sent to our office.  Please do not include/send transcripts marked as unofficial.  They will not be included in your file.  If you have opened, official transcripts, you may scan them and email them along with the application to expedite the approval process.   If you are offered a contract you will have to provide the sealed official transcripts for your personnel file.
  4. Confirmation of the current status of your credential (If you don’t have a credential, please explain why in the cover letter)
  5. Forward the reference form to the individuals who will be completing them on your behalf.  We require three references; two professional references from individuals who can give an assessment of your teaching abilities and one character reference (preferably from your pastor) to provide an assessment of your Catholic Identity. Each individual is to complete the form and send it back to nricco@rcbo.org directly. References forwarded by applicants will not be included in their application file.  References may, if they wish, include a reference letter with the completed form.  We do not accept letters of reference in lieu of the completed form.

Once your application is complete it will be submitted for review and approval.  If your application is approved it will be made available to ALL the elementary school principals to consider for their open positions.

Every Catholic School teacher is expected to be a strong faith witness and a teacher of the Catholic tradition.  It is expected that the administrator, conduct him/herself in a manner that reflects a strong commitment to the mission of Jesus Christ and to the Diocese of Orange.  It is required that every teacher obtains and maintains certification as a catechist through the Institute for Pastoral Ministry sponsored by the Diocese.  If certification is not been obtained prior to employment, it must be completed within three years.

For an applicant to be considered, you must submit the following:

  1. Completed Teacher Application
  2. Three current Employment References (TWO professional / ONE Character) on forms provided. These are to be sent directly to our office as they are CONFIDENTIAL and not to be shared with the applicant.
  3. Copy of official university/college transcript indicating degree obtained. We do not accept unofficial
  4. Copy of your teaching Credential (original should be available for verification for all school interviews)
  5. A current resume

 

Once an offer of employment is made, the following must be provided before employment begins.

  1. Official, sealed university/college transcript
  2. Fingerprint clearance through the Diocese of Orange
  3. Safe Environment training through the Diocese of Orange

Using a school van, driver will go from Connelly to Irvine/Tustin/Anaheim and back to Connelly.
• The hours will be approximately 3 hours /day with 15 to 20 hours per week.
• Driver needs to be available from 5:45 am to 8 am for picking up Connelly students.
• The driver will need to be available from dismissal time on most days which is 2:40 PM and 3:30 PM
• However the driver must also be available to drive at 5 pm for students who are in after school sports.

The Director of Development for Catholic Schools is a new position joining an existing team of dynamic advancement professionals, volunteers and staff at the Orange Catholic Foundation. This position will work in collaboration with the leadership team at the Diocese of Orange who share a commitment to supporting and sustaining Catholic schools in our Diocese.

The Director of Development for Catholic Schools will be a deeply involved frontline fundraiser and leader within the Orange Catholic Foundation and will work in close collaboration with the Superintendent of Catholic Schools and other leaders in the Catholic Schools Department. This position is tasked with creating and raising support for annual funds to benefit the schools both at a diocesan and individual school level as well as the continuation of soliciting both outright and estate gifts to increase the school endowment funds at the Orange Catholic Foundation for the benefit of these schools. Other special projects may be initiated based on the emerging diocesan strategic plan for Catholic schools as well as other special projects that may be initiated. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Philanthropy of the Orange Catholic Foundation (OCF) and working closely with the Superintendent of Schools and the Executive Director and President of the OCF, the Director of Development will be charged with developing nearly $3 million in support (Endowment and Annual) for the Diocese’s schools each year.

Key factors contributing to the success of the Director of Development will be the ability to raise philanthropic support for the Diocesan Catholic Elementary Schools and its programs, and to develop effective outreach and campaign strategies that connect with individual and institutional donors. As part of that effort, the Director of Development will work with other members of OCF and schools department to continually improve the fundraising support infrastructure and ensure that the organization can respond quickly, effectively, creatively and contextually to long term financial requirements, short term operating needs while respecting donor intent.
